Cleaning With Vinegar

So I saw this on Pinterest from the thrifty home about cleaning hard water stains with vinegar. It really really works. I have very hard water at my house so I have little rings around all my faucets. I took paper towels soaked in vinegar and packed them around the faucets. I let them sit for at least 30 minutes and then took a toothbrush and scrubbed the area. It works well. I think I made need to leave the towels on a little longer in some spots next time but here are the pictures.

 Scrub away and after

Well that is a helpful household hint for you. I hope to see you again soon!

Birthday Breakfast

So my husband's birthday was last week and to celebrate I got up early on his birthday and made him breakfast. I made waffles using this recipe from All Recipes .
Here is the batter in the waffle iron

I put the waiting waffles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper in an oven on 200 degrees to keep them warm and crisp while I cooked the rest of the batter.

I set the counter and made him a cup of coffee. I made whipped cream but sadly I over whipped it and it wasn't very good. I served the waffles with butter, syrup, raspberries, and whipped cream.

That evening after he got home from work he got to open his birthday present.

In spite of me questioning him all about air compressors a month ago while we were at the hardware store he was completely surprised to open the box and find an air compressor.
He is very happy with it. He is looking forward to many home repair projects that he can do with it (including a new roof on the house next year.)

We also went out to dinner on Friday night with hisr family for his birthday. I wish my camera battery hadn't died so I could show you a picture of the outfit I wore. It was a black tank top with a black mid calf length skirt with white hibiscus flowers. I like it because it feels beach-y without being too loud and screaming tropical.

I think that is about it for this post. Hope to see you again soon.

Hairstyles

Well as you may have noticed from the previous pictures I have curly red hair. I was very much a tomboy growing up and never really learned how to do much with my hair and seeing as I have become a bit more girly as I have grown up I am trying out a few new hairstyles. I love seeing all the beautiful braided styles on Pinterest so I took a stab and came up with this style.
Here is a slightly better view of the front.
What I did was take wet hair (which is the only way to be able to braid my hair) and section off the front. I braided the hair down with just a regular braid. I flipped the braid up so that I could pull it to the back with the rest of the ponytail. So my hair was still in a ponytail but at least it had a bit of interest at the front. Well that is it for today but more to follow this week as I show you the fun stuff we did for my husband's birthday.

Outfit of the Week

Hi there,

Seeing as I have started training for a few half marathons (Rock N Roll (RNR) half marathon Los Angeles; RNR half marathon Las Vegas; and the Tinkerbell half marathon at Disneyland) I thought I would share one of my running outfits this week. Maybe next week I will wear something interesting, this week I have mostly been wearing scrubs or grubby clothing while cleaning my house. So here is my teal running shirt (from Target) with black capris (from Target) and spotted socks (also from Target, seeing a pattern yet?). I run in my favorite Nike Free running shoes. The kinda neat thing is that my nail polish matches my shirt which I know is silly but it makes me happy.

What would a running post be without a picture of my sweet running buddy K. She loves to run with me but sometimes she almost drags me off my feet because she is so excited to run.

Well that is about all I have for today. Hopefully soon I will post a recipe or two as a goal of mine is to learn at least 10 recipes that are healthy and tasty.

Hi there,

Welcome to my little corner of the internet. This is hopefully a record of the crazy beautiful life that I lead. So a bit about my life: I'm a 20 something woman who shares a house with a sweet husband (J), a large goofy bandogge mastiff (K), a big fat lazy cat (P), and an adorable little kitten (B), and occasionally a sweet labrador (D). Pictures to come soon. I work full time and go to school part time hopefully at some point I will finish my bachelor's degree. I love to swim, I am learning to love running, and occasionally race triathlons. I am hoping to learn how to cook and crochet so with a little luck you will get to see me progress in these areas. So please feel free to join me on the crazy beautiful ride called life.
