So last week I worked out early in the week but took a few days off in the middle of the week. I still can't get my bike distance sensor to work which is so frustrating.
Monday: swam 1300 yards and did a 15 minute flexibility yoga routine
Tuesday: ran 3.2 miles in 36 minutes with the baby and the mastiff
Wednesday: rode 45 minutes on the bike on the trainer
Thursday: didn't swim
Friday: didn't run
Saturday: ran 3.1 miles in 32 minutes with just the mastiff, left the sleeping baby at home with daddy
Seeing as I am at the moment a stay at home mommy and my little one is too little to ride in the bike trailer my bike trainer is the only way I can get seat time on my bike.
I got a CycleOps mag trainer off craigslist. It was super easy to set up. Just take out the rear spindle on your bike, slide in the trainer spindle. Then you just put the spindle on the trainer and adjust the width so it fits properly and lock it in place. Then adjust the resistance and lock that in place. Place the riser block under the front wheel and then its good to go. My only complaints are that its really tall I need a little step stool to get on and off the bike. Second complaint is that its hard on your rear tire. I probably need to get a tougher trainer tire.

Teething Already
My little guy is only 2 1/2 months old and this past Saturday night he just could not be consoled and was just screaming. He wouldn't eat and was drooling like crazy. I finally warmed up some milk in a bottle and he took that but he mostly just wanted to chew on the bottle nipple. I kept trying to put him to bed but every time I put him down he would wake up and start crying. I finally nursed him back to sleep and we ended up sleeping on the futon in the nursery together, whereas he normally sleeps in a rock n play sleeper next to my bed. The next morning when my husband and I looked in his mouth you can see white through his upper gums. My little guy is teething already! I am so surprised. I guess this little guy just has his own agenda on when he is going to do things and wants to do things early. My poor little guy is so miserable but because he is so little still he can't hold a teething ring. He is mostly gnawing on his hand and drooling all over the place. Hopefully he feels better soon.

Weekly Workout Review
So this past week was part of the schedule as a recovery week. The schedule had you drop one run and have decreased yardage and time on the workouts. I dropped the one run and an additional swim.
Monday: my alarm went off I looked at my little guy and he was so out I didn't want to wake him to feed him and I hit the snooze a few extra times so I decided to skip going to the pool this morning.
Tuesday: got up and went to the pool. I swam 850 yards.
Wednesday: rode the bike for an hour, I don't know what that translates into distance because I am still waiting for my replacement bike computer sensor. Then jogged for 10 minutes around the house.
Thursday: skipped my swim scheduled for this day.
Friday: ran 2.9 miles in 31 minutes. Its getting quite hot here and that kept me somewhat slow.
Saturday: my new bike computer sensor arrived but this one doesn't work either yet so I have no idea what's wrong. I will be emailing customer service again. I rode for an hour.
This week coming up has me back to increasing my previous distances. Hopefully I can sort out my bike computer sensor and hopefully will get all my workouts in.

What She Wore
So this past weekend we went to our friend's vow renewal for their 25th wedding anniversary. I wore one of my favorite dresses. Its a Ralph Loren dress I got at Marshalls. I wanted to wear my cute white flowery sandals but they don't fit on my larger post pregnancy feet. Stretchy dresses are a post pregnancy body's friend. I just realized my cat is hiding right behind me in this photo making my waist look thicker than it should.

My Life Saver
My little guy is not too big on napping. His first few weeks he would not nap unless he was being held. As soon as you put him down he would wake up and start fussing. We visited my mom's house and discovered he liked the baby swing. So I decided we needed a swing for my little guy and it has been the best thing ever. Now I can put the little guy in the swing, strap him in and turn it on and he will nap, and even if he doesn't nap he likes to sit and hang out and just be happy.
I got my Graco swing at Target. I really like it because it folds up and the legs shrink down for compact storage. Also it has 2 height settings. You can extend the legs to make it so you don't have to bend down as far.
Here is the swing folded up, the legs can get closer together but I needed to have them spread to keep it standing up.
Here is the swing with the legs kept short.
Here is the swing with fully extended legs.
This is my favorite piece of baby equipment at this point. My little guy has not rolled over again since last week. I put him on his tummy today and he looked like he was trying to roll over from his tummy to his back but did not get all the way to his side. Well I will just keep trying and he will figure it out when he is ready.
My other favorite little love moments are when he wakes up in the morning after his first feeding and going back to sleep. When he wakes up he giggles and coos and is just the happiest little guy and just wants to hang out.
Today I feel like I got a ton done. I got up at 4AM fed my little guy, then I headed to the pool and swam. I got home got 75% of my class work done for school for this week. I cleaned my kitchen, my living room, washed and folded and put away the laundry. I also made dinner. I love nothing more than having a clean house. Plus my little guy was happy and not too fussy today. I love my life.
Well that's it for today. I need sleep. See you all tomorrow.

Weekly Workout Review
So this past week I missed 2 workouts. I felt really sluggish last week.
Monday: swam 1100 yards
Tuesday: jogged/ walked 2.25 miles in 30 minutes and felt supper sluggish. Also the front wheel came off the jogging stroller twice which added to my frustration of feeling sluggish.
Wednesday: intended to ride the bike but it didn't happen
Thursday: swam 1100 yards
Friday: skipped the run completely just didn't try
Saturday: skipped the bike ride
Sunday: rode the bike on the trainer for 45 minutes
However this week I wanted to talk about a cool new training tool I picked up.
I found this cool Aquasphere kick board and pull buoy combination device.
I really like the fact that I only have to take one piece of equipment to do two things at the pool. It works really well as a kick board, nice and streamlined, not too big and awkward. As a pull buoy it works okay. My only complaint as a pull buoy is that its hard to do flip turns while using it because it is longer than a standard pull buoy which interferes with your knees when you turn. Overall its a minor inconvenience. Its nice to only have one relatively compact piece of equipment to take to the pool instead of two.
This week is the rest week on the schedule for which I am grateful. So off on another week of training to get down to my pre pregnancy weight. As of this morning only 8 more pounds to go to the weight I was when I got pregnant.

Recipe Reveiw
So I love overnight recipes for breakfast. So this week's recipe is overnight peaches and cream french toast from here. It turned out pretty good but its a lot of food for just me and the hubs. I also think that the recipe could use more of the cream reduction on top, maybe use more then half a cup?
